Project Staff

Project Co-ordinator 2000-2003: Mike Wray

I have been working in the area of disability for approximately 14 years. I have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Psychological Research Methods. During my undergraduate years I began voluntary work with people with learning difficulties (including a spell on a summer camp in the US). This culminated in a stint as an Assistant Psychologist working in a multidisciplinary team that dealt with clients with challenging behaviour.

Upon completion of my Masters programme I worked with clients with mental health difficulties before moving into education as a support worker with 16+ year old college students with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

I then took up a position at the Disability Coordinator at the University of the West of England in Bristol, UK where I managed a Disability Resource Centre and was a member of the Management Group for the WEBB Accessibility Project.

After the completion of the DEMOS project I started working for the National Disability Team.

Web Developer 2000-2003: Iris Manhold

Iris describes herself as a web designer with the soul of a librarian. In June 2000 she graduated with a first class honours degree in Information Management from the Manchester Metropolitan University. She has been working as a web developer since 1998. During this time she developed a special interest and expertise in Accessible Web design, usability and information architecture.

Iris wrote a case study titled "Standards and Accessibility Compliance for the DEMOS Project Web Site" for UKOLN, which summarized the issues dealt with and the experiences made during the development of this website.
