£5000 available for Subject Matter Experts
Money available for academic staff to join writing team for Demos project.
The DEMOS Project is a HEFCE funded disability initiative that is producing online staff development materials relating to the support of disabled students in the learning environment. [» More about the project]
One part of the resources we are developing is a series of online learning modules. We are currently seeking academic staff to contribute to the writing of an online module regarding learning and teaching issues and disabled students.
A small team or individual academic staff who have expertise in the field of disability or particular experience of supporting disabled students in an HE context are invited to apply for the role. A fund of up to £5000 is available for the work. Experience of developing materials for online learning would be advantageous.
The deadline for expressions of interest is 22nd of March 2002.
It is hoped that writing of the materials will be complete by the June 2002.

Further £5000 available for resources from external institutions
We currently have a £5000 development fund available for materials that would fit into our online learning resources. (A proportion of the money will be allocated to each successful bid.)
Perhaps you have already produced a guide to supporting disabled students and would like to convert it for the web or you have produced a staff development workshop which uses innovative ideas that can be easily converted for the web. We are particularly interested in materials that relate to learning and teaching. Suggestions for possible materials are :
- learning and teaching strategies.
- frequently asked questions.
- case studies of assessment practices.
- case studies of teaching practices.
- subject-specific issues.
Innovative solutions will be welcomed and we are willing to negotiate with interested parties regarding the final product.
Expressions of interest should be received by the 22nd March 2002.
It is hoped that production of the materials will be complete by June 2002.
